If you own a Hunter sailboat, and sail the waters of Lake Ontario, you meet the requirements to join LOHSA. The Lake Ontario Hunter Sailing Association (LOHSA) brings Hunter owners in Canada and the United States in touch with each other so that they may expand their knowledge and circle of friends. We encourage Hunter sailboat owners around Lake Ontario to join our Association.
This website marks a new generation for Lake Ontario Hunter Owners to meet. We are continuing the original Lake Ontario chapter founded in 2000 at the Hunter Rendezvous in Rochester, NY.
2010 will mark the start of a recruitment campaign for new Hunter sailboat owners on Lake Ontario's two country boundaries. With a membership of over 100, Canada is outpacing U.S. members 10 to 1.
Please help us grow by asking your fellow dock mates that are Hunter owners to sign up for free membership in the Lake Ontario Hunter Sailing Association (LOHSA). Details are on the CONTACT page.
Where has the summer gone? That is a question that all sailors on Lake Ontario are asking this year. July was the coldest July in recorded history. It may have also been one of the wettest. Nevertheless, Hunter owners gathered at the Credit Village Marina in Port Credit, Ontario July 24-26 for the 10th anniversary of the LOHSA rendezvous.
This year's event had a "Jammin' Reggae" theme. Plenty of flowered shirts were spotted and spicy foods prevailed at meals. There were learning sessions and a rained out race Saturday. Attendance had 47 registered boats, which filled the marina for the weekend.
A South Shore rendezvous was held August 14-16. This was a sailing rendezvous that started Fair Haven (Little Sodus Bay) and ended in Sodus Bay, New York. There was anchoring out as well as a group cruise from one port to the other. The group was much smaller than the Canadian rendezvous, but the spirits were high and fun was had by all.
Thanks go to True North Yachts for sponsoring the Canadian rendezvous, and RCR Yachts for sponsoring the U.S. rendezvous. A big thank you goes to Hunter Marine for supplying many of the gifts that participants received.

The new Commodore will be someone who also has great passion for the Yachting Lifestyle, is loyal to the Hunter Brand and who brings with them a diverse skill set to not only represent the Association, but work with our Webmaster, to communicate with our members.
