About Us
The year 2000 marked the charter year for the Lake Ontario Hunter Sailing Association (LOHSA). This group of Hunter sailboat owners started when John Vasey inquired on the Hunter Owners Web (HOW) if a group existed. Several of us HOW regulars wrote back that no, there wasn't a group, but since you brought it up............ You can guess what happened next: John became the first Commodore, and yours truly (Ken Palmer) Vice Commodore.
The year 2008 brought in a new Commodore, Carol Krummenacher. The new Vice Commodore
was Gary Grant. The new 2009 positions are North Shore Commodore and
South Shore Commodore. Carol and Gary will continue with their positions
for one more year. Our goal has been to bring together Hunter owners from the Lake Ontario and surrounding area. This is a large territory to cover, so it was originally decided to have two annual rendezvous' every year, one in Canada and one in the U.S. The U.S. Rendezvous was cancelled in 2006 and 2007, but continued again in 2008
and 2009.
First LOHSA meeting in held in Rochester.
